Questions about General Tzitzis ?

What is the most authentic kind of tzitzis?

All wool, cotton, and polycotton tzitzis are kosher. Wool is considered the most traditional, while polycotton offers the most comfort.

What is the most comfortable tzitzis?

Our Perf-Tzit undershirt tzitzis are our most popular for comfort, followed by mesh tzitzis for maximum breathability. Note: Some Orthodox  communities do not wear mesh or undershirt, considering it less traditional.

What’s the most affordable tzitzis?

The Rimon Wool Tzitzis line is our most budget-friendly, offering quality wool construction with simpler manufacturing.

What is tzitzis?

Tzitzis are specially knotted fringes worn on a four-cornered garment, as commanded in the Torah (Bamidbar 15:38–39). The garment itself is often called a “tallis katan” and is worn under or over clothing.

Who wears tzitzis?

Jewish men and boys traditionally wear tzitzis daily.

How are tzitzis worn?

Most Jews wear tzitzis under their clothing, with the fringes visible. Hasidic communities often wear the garment over their shirt.

What kind of tzitzis do the strictest Orthodox Jews wear?

The strictest minhag is to wear wool tzitzis exclusively. However, many yeshivish and Litvish Jews prefer cotton, and Chassidim often choose polycotton for comfort. Sephardic Jews typically wear wool or cotton.

What is Meyuchad tzitzis?

“Meyuchad” means the strings are machine-spun but tied by hand. These are 100% kosher and widely worn.

What is Avodas Yad tzitzis?

“Avodas yad” means the strings are spun by hand from start to finish, considered a more stringent option than Meyuchad.

What is Menupatz Lishma?

This refers to tzitzis strings made “lishma” (with intention for the mitzvah) from the earliest stage — even before spinning — considered the most stringent option.

Why can I buy tzitzis without strings?

Some customers prefer to attach their own strings, following a minhag that adds personal involvement in the mitzvah.

Why do some tzitzis have one hole and some have two?

Having one hole is Minhag Ashkenaz (Lithuanian/Litvish), while having two holes follows the Chassidish (Hasidic) Minhag.

Why do some tzitzis have v-neck and some have round neck?

Some are of the opinion that a round neck is preferable for kabbalistic reasons. This is a minority opinion; most choose based on personal comfort.

What’s the difference between the Mefoar Tzitzis and the Rimon Tzitzis?

Rimon is Mefoar’s more affordable religious garment line. Both brands of tzitzis are made of the same high-quality materials. Mefoar is produced in Israel, while Rimon is not.
